About SRS

Students at St. Rose experience a rich spiritual life through many extra-curricular service projects as well as daily instruction in Religion class. Our faith and values are incorporated into all areas of our curriculum. All students participate in a weekly school Mass on Wednesday morning at 8:00am. Each week Kindergarten – Eighth grades participates in leading the Mass liturgy, proclaiming the readings and petitions, bringing up the gifts, and leading the school in singing hymns at Mass.

Events that strengthen our faith and reinforce our commitment of service to others include:

  • Daily group prayer, daily classroom prayer, and weekly all school Mass keep students aware the God is an important part of our lives.

  • Class sponsored Mass allows students to experience planning and leading the Eucharistic liturgy.

  • Service projects like the food drives, mitten collection, toiletry collection for soldiers, and support for residents of nursing homes makes students aware of their responsibility to help those in need.

  • Monthly dress “down” days that support special causes remind students of those less fortunate.

  • Grandparents Day reminds students of the importance of family.

  • Advent prayers teach students that the weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas should focus on the greatest gift they can receive, Jesus entering their lives.

  • Christmas Eve Mass reminds students that we celebrate the birth of the Savior on December 25.

  • Lenten prayers give students an opportunity to learn about Jesus, and what he endured, and what he did, so that the whole world could be saved.

  • Stations of the Cross remind students that Jesus carried a heavy cross and died for us.

  • May Crowning reminds students of the Church’s tradition of honoring the Mother of Jesus

  • Altar Servers

  • Retreats for Sacraments of Reconciliation, Eucharist, and Confirmation
